FAQs
What is the ISDRS?
The International Sustainable Development Research Society organises yearly conferences under the ISDRS flag, with 2015 being the 21st conference in a row. With working groups we exchange and disseminate knowledge and educate others about sustainable development.
What are the benefits of joining ISDRS?
Joining ISDRS as a paying member offers several valuable benefits. Members receive reduced fees for attending ISDRS conferences. Moreover, members gain access to additional resources on the ISDRS website, including conference abstracts and papers, which are not available to non-members. Paying members can also access academic journals related to sustainability, enhancing their research and professional development. Furthermore, they are granted voting rights in major board decisions, allowing them to actively contribute to the strategic direction of the society.

Who are governing the ISDRS?
You can find more information on the people behind the ISDRS and their roles here.
What do I need to do to receive access to the journals?
Besides having paid ISDRS membership, you need to add your full address details on your profile. Wiley (the publisher) needs this information to give you access. Please also note that access is not granted immediately: it can take a while before you receive an email from Wiley with your login details.
What do I need to do if I can't login?
If you are already a member, you can go to the login page. Here you can login. There is also a link that says "Lost your password?". You can use this to request a new password. When logging in, please make sure to use your username. Trying to log in with your email address will not work.
How can I renew my membership?
All memberships are valid for the period of one calendar year. After this year you will have to renew your membership to be able to receive all the benefits. You can renew your membership by contacting us on assistant@isdrs.org.
When is the next conference?
We have an annual ISDRS conference, however the most up-to-date information on that is to be found on the conference website here.
How can I become active in a working group?
If you find a working group that you are interested in or want to contribute to, please email the contact person of the group. You can find the information on the specific pages for each group. If there is no page yet, but you think you can contribute, please email us at information@isdrs.org
How do I subscribe to the newsletter?
You can find the newsletter under the Media menu on the main page.
How do I register for the conference?
Conference registration involves two steps, both carried out through the Oxford Abstracts platform:
- Abstract Submission – First, submit your abstract through Oxford Abstracts. It will be reviewed, and you will receive a decision by email.
- Conference Registration – Once your abstract is accepted (or if you are attending without presenting), you must complete a separate registration process for the conference.
Links for both the abstract submission and registration processes are available on the main page, the conference page, and under the “Conferences” section in the website menu.
How do I know which track to choose when submitting my abstract?
Each track corresponds to a specific topic group. Descriptions and submission requirements for all topic groups are available under the “Topic Groups” menu on the website.
Additionally, the same information is provided under the “Conference Tracks” section on the conference webpage.
