The issue will pay special attention to the current facts that shape our world, as listed by the Sustainable Development Goals in the Goal 11: Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. Half of humanity is today living in cities, 95 per cent of urban expansion in the next decades will take place in the developing world and 828 million people live in slums, a number that keeps rising.
Contributions from the followings areas will be particularly welcomed:
•Discussion of key concepts, methods and applications in cutting-edge sustainable urban design and architecture.
•Discussion of the impact of innovative ecological design approaches and appliances in development projects.
•The role of stakeholders in the design of the sustainable city and region development.
•The dimensions of green design and architecture - fostering sustainable lessons in vernacular building traditions and enhancing communities and heritage-based projects.
•Community-based studies that look at the environmental, economic, social, but also cultural and ideological dimensions of sustainability, embracing the concept of well-being.

African Studies Review Pipeline for Emerging African Scholars Workshop

The African Studies Review (ASR) convenes Pipeline for Emerging African Scholars (PEAS) Workshops, in collaboration with the African Studies Association of Africa (ASAA, to stimulate, solicit, and further develop high quality journal submissions from Africa-based scholars under the close mentorship of senior Africanists from the continent and beyond. In collaboration with the ASAA the ASR will sponsor a PEAS workshop at the University of Ghana, Legon, on October 11, 2017. Scholars who wish to submit a proposal are, ideally, post-doctoral researchers, newly minted PhDs with works-in-progress currently underway, and soon-to-submit PhD students. Emerging scholars will have an opportunity to work closely with senior scholars to re-work a pre-circulated draft article.

18th European Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production: 1-5 October 2017

We would like to inform you that the 18th European Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production will be held in Skiathos Island, Greece from 1st to 5th of October 2017. The Conference is organized by the National Technical University of Athens.

We are inviting authors to prepare original Abstracts/Papers, state of the art reviews or case studies for the European   Roundtable   on   Sustainable   Consumption   and   Consumption   and   Production (ERSCP).

One page Abstracts of 400–500 words are invited in response to this Call for Papers. The abstracts must be prepared in English. Abstracts may be submitted via the following Link:
