Prof. Dr. Roberta Salomone

Roberta Salomone received her Ph.D. in "Technology and Economics of Processes and Products for the Environmental Safeguard" (University of Catania). She is currently Full Professor of Commodity Science, Vice Rector for Student Services of the University of Messina and Rectoral Delegate for the Italian University Network for Sustainable Development (RUS Rete Università per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile). She has been President of the Orientation and Placement Center of the University of Messina from the 03/07/2018 to the 09/07/2020. She has been Deputy Director of the Department of Economics - University of Messina (Italy) from 25/01/2016 to July 2018.

She participates and participated to various research groups, also as national coordinator and she is, actually, author of more than 180 publications on national and international scientific journals, books and proceedings. Her main research themes are related to sustainability, circular economy, industrial ecology and industrial symbiosis, and environmental management and assessment, with particular reference to Life Cycle Thinking methods (mainly Life Cycle Assessment - LCA). She is today: Vice-President of the Italian LCA Network; member of the Board of the Italian Academy of Commodity Sciences; member of the Board of the International Sustainable Development Research Society (ISDRS); member of the Board of Professor of the PhD in "Economics, Management and Statistics" – University of Messina and member of the Board of Professor of the National PhD school in "Sustainable Development and Climate Change" University School for Advanced Studies IUSS Pavia.

She has been visiting professor at: AGH University of Science and Technology, Kracow (Poland), Tsinghua University, Beijing (China), University of Tokyo, Tokyo (Japan), Bren School of Environmental Science & Management University of California, Santa Barbara CA (USA).
