The 8th World Sustainability Forum - WSF2020
15- 17 September 2020, International Conference Center, Geneva, SwitzerlandPart of the First World Sustainability Week, 14-19 September 2020, Geneva, Switzerland
September 2020 marks the 5th birthday of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. If it were a child and given the right circumstances, it would now have developed fine motor skills, be able to stand on one foot for 10 seconds, have long conversations, and start to develop independence and responsibility. With The 8th World Sustainability Forum, we are not only celebrating a birthday, but are also taking stock of where we are in relation to a more sustainable world, what has worked, what has not yet worked, and where we need to go next. International University Network on Cultural and Biological Diversity (IUNCBD)
The International University Network on Cultural and Biological Diversity (IUNCBD) has been established under the MoU and Cooperation (2010) with the United Nations Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). The initiative has a special focus on developing countries.
The establishment of the IUNCBD Network wanted to give a scientific and operative contribution to the call of the CBD, focused on unexplored interactions and characterized by the lack of specialized studies and dedicated organizations.

Sustainable Consumption Research and Action Initiative
The Sustainable Consumption Research and Action Initiative (SCORAI) is a knowledge network of professionals working at the interface of material consumption, human well-being, and technological and cultural change. It aims to foster a transition beyond the currently dominant consumer society.
SCORAI provides a forum for scholars and practitioners striving to understand the drivers of the consumerist economy in affluent technological societies; to formulate and analyze options for post-consumerist lifestyles, social institutions, and economic systems; and to provide the knowledge for emergent grassroots innovations, social movements, and public policies.

Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI)
The 21st-century is faced with environmental changes from local to global scales that require large efforts of mitigation and adaptation by societies and ecosystems. The causes and effects, problems and solutions of global change interlink biogeochemistry, Earth system functions and socio-economic conditions in increasingly complex ways. To guide efforts of mitigation and adaptation to global change and aid policy decisions, scientific knowledge now needs to be generated in broad transdisciplinary ways that address the needs of knowledge users and also provide profound understanding of complex socio-environmental systems. To address these knowledge needs, 12 nations of the American continent came together in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1992 to establish the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI).
