Saurabh Biswas 

Saurabh Biswas  is a research fellow with the Community Appropriate Sustainable Energy Security (CASES) initiative at the University of Saskatchewan. He studies the complex relationship of energy infrastructures, technologies, social institutions and sustainable futures with a particular focus on historically marginalized populations and places. Dr. Biswas has led collaborative research projects in multiple countries including US, Sierra Leone, Brazil, Nepal, Uganda, Bolivia, Philippines, India and Puerto Rico. Prior to his current role, Dr. Biswas was a social scientist at the U.S Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and is the co-founder of the open knowledge initiative called 'Let Communities Lead'. He has held adjunct faculty positions at Arizona State University and Portland State University. Dr. Biswas holds a PhD in Sustainability from Arizona State University (Tempe, USA)  and masters in energy systems engineering.
